The Illinois Legislature approved HB 70 for an effective date of January 1, 2010. This bill requires that all producers in Illinois complete 3 hours of in-classroom Ethics prior to their 2010 insurance license renewal.
ISAHU and the Illinois Department of Insurance worked together to establish a 60 day grace period for those producers renewing in January & February. A producer must submit evidence with their renewal that they have registered for an Ethics class in January or February. The producer must submit evidence that they completed the class to validate their renewal. Please check http://insurance.illinois.gov for exact details and a list of classroom courses.
